I have this coin that I believe could be Greek but until someone confirms this I thought that it is best to show it here. Does anyone know what it is please? Where is it from? What date might it be?
Thanking you, in anticipation.
Regards

Sorry, I forgot to add -
It is 19 mm and it is (obviously) hammered, but out of what composite I do not know.

The jugate (dual side-by-side) busts of the king and queen gives it away as being from the ancient Nabatean Kingdom - the capital city of which was Petra, in what is now Jordan. The coins of Aretas IV (reigned 9 BC - AD 40) are the most commonly encountered with this design.

I agree it's Nabatean. I'm going to move it to the Ancient coin section for more help.

As said before, except ill add that I think it looks cast (mushy, bubbles, etc). I've seen a lot of casts of this kind of coin around - perhaps they were released in a series and handed out in a magazine or something.

Thank-you Sap. I have looked up Nabatean and I have found some images of coins from that era. There are even some photos of the same coin.
I don't know how you did it but I do appreciate your input.
Regards
