I haven't gotten into toned coins at all and I don't really understand how they work, but I do know that most of my silver coins do have the black toning silver gets (if that counts as toning)

I did however come across this one for sale and I was wondering, is this blue toning or is the lighting making the normally black stuff I mentioned above look blue?

Research the phenomena Thin Film Interference
As for this coin, looks like good old fashioned album toning

I have one or two Eisenhower dollars. They are Copper-Nickel Clad. They have similar blue toning.

Your thoughts please?

Black is the final stage of a toning process which runs through the entire rainbow of colors.
