I have an bank wrapped roll of silver quarters, and over time and jossling, one end has opened. There wasn't much paper on that end to begin with.

Would a cheap machine like this one do the trick?

Please post a picture of the roll. Normally bank-wrapped are done by hand, and the ends fold over.

If it was me I wouldn't mess with it, but if you want to you can tape it without getting the tape on the coins.

I like your suggestion of just not messin' with it. I can store it ok. I gently tucked the paper over and under the best I could with a toothpick, and currently have it standing upright on the good end inside a plastic coin tube. I like collecting things in their unopened state and it just distresses me because "if" I ever want to sell it, the roll now looks opened. So I was just curious if there was a simple fix to re-wrap/roll the end. I guess I could always spend the 8 bucks and give it a try.

What makes it special in the first place? Originality can't be proven - you can buy unused bank wrappers from the 20s on ebay occasionally. Bank? Just means whatever random loose stuff was there that day - or is thst the attraction? A picture of, say, cents in circulation in Peoria in 1954?/

The same thing that makes what you collect special

Ed, to answer your original question, I've heard mixed things about the twist and crimp. I've heard it's a cruddy piece of plastic that will sometimes just mangle the end of the roll, other people say it's great and works fine. If you do go that route, I strongly suggest practicing on rolls that don't matter as much to you.

You're right, it looks very dicey at best. I've been reading the reviews and went to their website and they say it only works on their rolls. Not sure if they're trying to sell rolls, but it might only work best on sturdier paper. The roll I have is definitely NOT sturdy paper. Will probably just leave it as is.
