I believe that digital photography of coins has changed my life, nothing less! I was a computer programmer, and I started taking pictures of my coins for my computer screen background at work. Then I thought that since I have the pictures, and some doubles, I might as well sell them. I started on ebay, then on our own web site. Now, the web business is growing every day. Taking the coin pictures is one of the most enjoyable part of the business for me. As I often said, I might be getting old, but there are many engraving details that I see first on my computer screen, then I look again at the coin to enjoy it even more.

I use the digital photography as a means to share my collection ,, for so long I was in solitude with my coins ,, My wife tries to act interested , but I know in reality its not really the case .

at least through the medium of pictures I can share some of my coins with like minded folks .

not to mention the Identification aspect if I were to lose my coins to theft.

that is when I can get what I'm after in a picture ,, I'm having real problems with very high luster MS coins , but eventually I will figure out the what and why .

Carl...I don't really do anything with my coin pictures except share them here on occasion and also, because my eyesight isn't the best, I use the pics to better see my coins. Still, each to their own. You obviously have things pretty well set up the way you like 'em, and who could wish for more.

So true it is. I'm pretty old and my eyes are also not the best. One is due for a caterac, not sure if spelled right, operation soon. Had stage four cancer not long ago so not much interested in collecting photos of coins. Actually not much interested in collecting anything anymore. Except coins that is.
Who could wish for more? With me it would be a bladder, prostate, lymph nodes, etc.

I had cataract surgery four years ago...was by far the youngest patient in the prep room! It's an easy procedure, was done about 7:15 a.m. and by 4:00 p.m. that same day I had 20/25 eyesight in that eye (where it had been 20/400 without correction). Eventually cleared up to a nice 20/20! Best wishes...on the cancer and the eyesight!
