Hi KrissieFin and welcome to the Forum!

The first group are all from Hong Kong apart from the larger coins in the bottom left hand corner which are from the Republic of China - don't know much about those so will let another Forum member comment on them! The Hong Kong coins are all common and of little value as far as I can tell, but there are some mintmark varieties on the 5c and 10c coins and your photos are not clear enough to identify them - they may have a little H or KN on them which could affect the value.

The second group of coins are all current legal tender circulating coins from Japan - two 10 yen coins, a 100 yen coin, a 50 yen coin and a 5 yen coin.

The third group appear to be medallions of some sort, and I can't help you with the holed Chinese cash in the final group, but someone else on the Forum probably can!

Thanks rob for replying back. you mentioned mintmark varieties on the 5c and 10c coins. Do you mean on the hong kong coins? and what are mintmarks? where would I found the H or KN? and what is the difference in value? Sorry I know nothing about coins. My husband works outside and found a bag full of coins from around the world.

Hi Krissie - the mintmark on these is a tiny little letter ner the rim, midway between the "N" or "E" of "TEN" or "FIVE" and the "C" of "CENTS". If it looks like an A it's probably an H. If there are two letters, it's KN.

We would still need larger photos to ascertain the coins' value and condition - I don't think there are any special rarities in this series, but then I may be wrong!

For the first two sets of pictures -

The Hong Kong coins are all pretty low-value. This kind of small change can be easily found all over the world thanks to Hong Kong's allure as a shopping destination.

The two China Republic coins look like 20 fen - equivalent to 20 cents. They are from "Year 25", which is 1936. Both of them have an "A" mintmark underneath the spade - so these Chinese coins were actually made in Vienna, half a world away! Value is apparently $6 in UNC but Krause seems to underprice many early modern Chinese coins. Those are worth treating well, as they are in excellent condition. If you don't have any dedicated coin supplies on hand, you can keep them in separate food-safe Ziploc bags.

The coins in the second set of pictures are all modern Japanese yen coins. The brassy-yellow holed coins are 5 yen, the copper coins are 10 yen, and the other two have the numerical denominations on them in our numerals. 1 yen is about 1 American cent, so the maximum value you have here is about $1.75 - these are very common.

Then we have two privately made medallions and a pile of old Chinese cash coins. For the cash coins, good pictures are needed - most cash coins are very common (billions were made over thousands of years) but there are rare varieties and types.
