Went to a bank that isn't the normal banks for me I go in and ask for a box of halves the didn't carry boxs so I asked for what they had 6 rolls she sets them on counter and to my excitement the papers where from a bank that was no longer in business and had been out of business for many years also I could see written on 1 roll said keep I could hardly hold myself to the ground I thought I had just struck the best find ever I get the car and I had to rip open the roll that said keep.... Every last roll was full of...... 1976 halves... Bummer...

to CCF fellow Michigander. Still a nice find. Keep the higher grades and pass on the rest to a young collector or leave as tips.

And welcome from another Michigander!

Yeah sometimes roll hunters play tricks on each other, like writing silver, or 1964, 65-70, etc...gets the hopes up and then letdown. All one can do is get right back in the game.

Maybe some people just like bicentennials and it wasn't a trick, so they intended to keep them and either passed them down or they got passed down when they passed away?

I remember I once wrote 1916-D on a roll of Dimes...

That's a pretty good prank, writing 1916-D on a dime roll. I think I will write 1909-S VDB on my next roll of cents I take to the bank.
