I saw this denarius about which I'm not convinced its genuine. What is your opinion, from a private collection or modern cast?
He is offering a return if not satisfied.

I agree with Pish.

Style looks off, surfaces very grainy.

If genuine you'd expect the bidding to be fast and furious with 30 minutes left.

New seller, hmmmm, pass for me

Coin looks a bit crude, even for something as high-grade as this should be.
Seller hasn't much feedback to go upon either. I'm hoping that you passed on it.

yes I passed on it, wasnt sure from the beginning and you all confirmed what I already thought. Sometimes I take a little risk but with these kind of unsafe coins the risk is too high

I saw no obvious flaws but the coin looks a bit too good to be true.
Silver denarii scare me. Especially the Republican and first century imperial.
I have seen too many high quality coins identified as fakes that would easily fool me.
Lately even many of the bronzes are giving me pause to wonder.
