I am wanting to know what grade this coin should receive? Also, is there anything specific when looking at these types of coins to determine if they are proof(Like a sharp strike)? Thank you for the help!
Proofs will have sharp rims, sharply struck devices, and mirror-like fields. 1937, 1950, and 1951 are the only dates in the KGVI 1d series for which proofs are readily available. The rest are quite scarce.
There are always '70s on the bay. I was hooked when I traded a common date Morgan for 60 of them, almost a date-run. Your date recently sold for 8 bucks in BU, while two proofs, 62 & 64 went for 49. apiece.
