While showing this token to a friend today I realised that what I had thought was a gouge is actually a countermark on the obverse. Rev: Obv: Countermark Is this a recognised countermark, if so, to whom is it attributed, please ? Is it common or rare ?

Need way better pix! If you can find a copy of Brunk see if it is a listed counterstamp?

Hard to tell from the pic but if I where to guess, I'd say it looks very similar to "masonic free masons" but worn out. Just a guess. https://goccf.com/t/98449

Pacificoin, If I had a reference work, I would have used it first before posing a question. I don't know what you mean by 'Brunk'. What qualities and attributes are you wanting by Quote: Need way better pix ? Does this help ?

pennyman007, Thanks for the linked topic.
I hope the previous picture shows better that it's not a mason's mark.

pennyman007, 2 specimens doesn't mean it's common, though that's not my question.
What is your underlying coin, please ?

What did you google, please ?
I tried several searches and didn't find anything like it and also searched coinsandcanada.com in vain.
