Why do people wait until the last hour to ask questions about something that is up for auction? I mean they have been listed for 7 days! I usually take extra pictures of things if people want different views of something, but I don't always take measurements of things as I figure people know the approx. size of something. Obviuosly this goes beyond coins. I usually have things packaged and ready for shipment near the end of auctions, that way as payments come in, I can ship immediately.

Ok, I'm done

Hi collect4fun

Ive wondered the very same thing ,all I can come up with is some people are always a few days behind !!! With no chance of catching up.

or perhaps it was a last minute thing to look for a particular Item, or joey down the street got one so billy up the street has got to get one but it needs to be better than joey's or the questions were merely to see if the one they already got was real or the same (research you know)

I bet you weren't expecting a real answer but here it is.

Almost 80% of buyers don't go past the second page of search results.

Combined with that, almost 80% of buyers sort by 'ending first'.

Why-Do-They??

These show hard facts from over 500 visits on our auctions. So it stands to reason roughly 80% of your visitors see your listing in the waning hours, hence the questions at that time.

I also buy off ebay and, although I don't ask questions in the last couple of hours, I only tend to look at auctions ending within 5 hours of when I'm looking.

Not the best method, but I usually only have about 10 minutes at a time to look for stuff to buy and I want to be able to surf all of the different coin categories. I also pick times to look that I know are not the peak times to end auctions, so items are usually cheaper.

I am considerate in that I won't ask questions at the end like that, but I also don't bid if I have any.

I kinda knew the answer, but I was just venting as the same person asked me 3 questions within the hour that an auction was ending. I had answers, but still.

Here is one that I have never understood, what is the difference between ending first and ending today? Wouldn't that be the same thing as all auctions end according to time of day?

I believe that if you choose "Ending Today", you will only get the results that are ending within a 24-hour period sorted by ending soonest.

"Ending Soonest" will sort all auctions (regardless of ending day) by ending time.

Really, it's kind of redundant to having "Ending Today" as an option since you can select which auctions you want to view by how many hours they have left.
