On September 8th 2014, the Currency Museum will have a new name and a new website.


I wonder what it's going to b called. National Museum of Coins and Paper Money? Any ideas?

sel_691, they already have those items. If it's used for exchange it's likely there.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I am really enjoying their blog. At the RCNA I attended a session by the chief curator of the museum. Very exciting stuff. I am happy to see that they are putting things up virtually.

Do they say when it will open up again? I have an Ottawa roadtrip coming up and I want to hit the Mint at the very least. I didn't get to see Mexico's Casa de Moneda because of renovations, and the mint's retail store thought I was a crook - they were being overly cautious even as I had my very polite demeanor on and I offered my ID which I needed to return to my country. Should I call the RCM ahead of time to book a tour or do they take walk-ins?
