I've picked up a few uncleaned ancient coins that have little to no patina, is this right?
the above is an example of one which still had dirt covering the neck and front legs of the pegasus when I received it. Are ancient coins all about patina?
Ancient coins are the only type of coin that is OK to clean, however you should only remove the dirt and not the patina. Removing the patina an exposing bare metal renders the coin just about worthless. Your coin still has some nice patina and should not be cleaned any more.
