I reported one of the pennies. They really are obvious fakes. I wish ebay would allow reporting of a seller as you are right that everything he's selling is fake. It's very tedious to report each coin. I noticed he also has zero sales history.

A few have been cancelled...what is the tip-off on these being "fake"?
The "1's" look weird, but...

The numbers in the dates are off, the 1863s looked to be bronze (Wrong metal composition), the reverses all had "Bold N" in "One".
They also just look to be crudely made. Problem is that you can buy these from China for $1 a coin and flip them for big bucks. Many unethical people look to make a quick, unethical dollar.

He has only been on the bay since the 24th of this month, 5 days. Must have made the account in order to pass off the fakes and not tarnish another account he may have. Just a theory.

He no longer has any coins listed. Either he got scared or ebay caught on. I'm happy I and any of you others reported him. It's nice to make a difference.

Apparently the seller pulled the auctions himself. They are still listed under the completed items and marked Listing ended by Seller because item is no longer available".

Here was the note I sent him..... "Hate to break it to you, but all of your Indian Head cents are fake. The reverses are completely wrong, the metal composition on the 1863s are wrong, the style of the numbers in the dates are wrong. If you purchased them from someone recently, ask for a refund. If you bought these as fakes and you are trying to pass them as authentic, shame on you. I suggest you pull these listings before you get caught selling fake US currency. Last time I checked, that was a felony."

This is really becoming a big problem. I was at my LCS and he has several Seated dollars, seated halfs and others. I looked at them and other than magnetic they are very close to looking real. Even one 1$ that was non magnetic and all were plated silver. Also on in Lead that was a very crude copy. If Myself or You as a novice collector, A parent trying to help a youngster get a set started. Could be conned by those coin selling crooks. I watch several fellow collectors on this board that very knowledgable in detecting fraud, but most are not and get taken. I wished that there could be laws banning coins from these countries that allow this to go on. Also make the punishment fit the crime, not a pat on the hand. Sorry to rant but there are to many dishonest people out there that need to be caught. Gary

forgery and dishonesty is nothing new....ever since we started assigning value to objects, people have been making copies/forgeries. It won't end anytime soon either. You just have to look at it as a part of the environment. if you get too caught up in it, you will lose sight of the fact that there are plenty of good people selling good stuff out there. I just look at it as part of the "game" and figuring out if something is a fake or not is part of the fun. Every time I buy something I assume it is fake until proven real, I don't buy it if I cant afford to take the hit if it does end up being fake, and I educate myself first and buy later. Took me three years of time on this site before I felt comfortable buying my first gold coins.
