Hi, I just found a star note with serial number IG 00176596* and was wondering if I should hold onto it or not? It has one fold down the center. I checked online, and it said it has a production run of 640,000. Keeper? I'm new to bills.
Thanks everyone!

anyway you can get us a pic?
600k seems to be a mid size run, and the serial number doesn't appear to be anything special.
I would wait for someone smarter than I, but sounds like a small premium if any.

It says G7 under the serial number. Not sure if that's any help

G7 would mean Chicago. What series (year) is it? That way I can give you a general price and the quantity printed etc. If you can post a photo that would be the best way to get a value and decide if it's a keeper or not.

It has one fold down the center. It's a 2006. Wish I could post a pic.

Both the Forth Worth and DC facilities printed Series 2006 Chicago district star notes and both printed a relatively high amount. (Roughly 6 million from each of the two sites) It lists at $50 in Uncirculated condition, but I would more realistically place it at maybe a $10 premium over face in UNC condition. Being that it is from such a high print run and has a fold, it's most likely a spender.

Where do you find the price guide? And that production run was only 640,000. That doesn't matter?

It's up to you if you keep or not. Not a low run,not in crisp condition, not a special SN, and it's a $20 sooo... John1

Quote: Where do you find the price guide? And that production run was only 640,000. That doesn't matter? A Guide Book of United States Paper Money: 4th Edition. You are correct, that certain run was only 640,000 but that's still not considered a very low run. It would have to be crisp UNC as well for there to be much room for a premium.
