I bought this coin to add to my Japanese collection. After some web surfing I'm sure it's not Japanese. I believe it's Chinese.

I believe it's something like a Chinese constellation coin/amulet. I didn't find this coin but I did find a couple round coins with the turtle, snake, sword or swords & the constellation.

Am I correct or even close?

It's a charm that is generally considered to have first appeared in Japan during the Taisho period.

These charms are reproduced in great quantities and can be purchased very inexpensively.

As an example, please see this website and this Chinese website.
