I am going to entre, apparently if it is something about royalty it has a better chance of winning.

If you do win you won't be allowed to let everyone know you win until it's announced anyway, haha.

It's funny they talk about your favourite landmark, but this will not represent Britishness at all, it'll represent one part of Britain and the rest will be left out, hence why royalty stuff has more chance, it won't annoy anyone any more than it does already.

Have The Royal Mint gave any update on this competition? I.e number of entries etc. And would the designers who have been shortlisted by RMAC know by now? Or are they too busy deciding the new Queen portrait. I'd love to display mine on here (and see others if people are willing to show them off!) but won't until I know I haven't been shortlisted. Anyone know anything?

I doubt they'll need the publicity now, so there won't be anything until you get the message saying if you've been shortlisted or not some time next year. It's just one of those wait and see.

Last time it took ages, I remember sending off the designs maybe April time, by June they let me know I had been shortlisted, then it took another 13 months for the next e-mail to arrive. So even if you get shortlisted it's just better to forget about it or it will drive you mad.
