I don't like the looks of it either. It looks cast to me.

I'm giving it a green light :) Looks authentic to me; fabric, style, etc. Check out similar coins in CNG's archives.

I have no problems with it either (but I have been fooled before !)
First impressions are important though ..... 99% sure its legit A tiny little bronze (12mm) is extremely difficult to make a cast copy. You will notice that on the listings of known fakes the quality castings tend to be large sized as the sprue itself need be 2 or 3 millimeters which would be a rather large blemish on a coin the size of a breath mint!

Over 1500 positive feedback saying very good things (also on COA coins), and negligible disgruntled customers, makes him look good in my eyes.

would any of you be willing to post some links to awesome ancient coins that are in the $100 to $500 range which I should consider for purchase? I just want one for my collection but have no clue where to start.
Thanks for any assistance.

In that price range there are a tremendous number of beautiful and interesting coins! Browse Vcoins and see what attracts you. Do you want something in great condition? Something with noteworthy historical relevance?

It IS a bronze coin and given the right burial conditions, I think such a surface texture is possible
I checked out Google Images for 'Troas Sigeion' and so came to the comment above.
Obverse style is a tad different, but I still think the attribution is correct.
