I would guess this a medal struck before the 1972 Games and has nothing to do with the violence.
München is the German spelling of Munich.
That it both in English and in German leads me to believe that it was intended for an American audience.

No, it's just one of the many souvenir medals of the games.

Oddly, I've seen 2 of these in different auctions recently.
In the first, it was described as gold but didn't reach the reserve.

In the second, it was described as gilt on bronze but mysteriously withdrawn just before the auction.

What metal is yours ? What weight and diameter is it, please ?
