I recently purchased some silver dollars, or at least what I thought where silver dollars. I believe the indian heads are counterfeit. I was hoping the bottom 2 where real. Can anyone help me out?

All of those look counterfeit to me. If the bottom two were real you would have a coin in the multiple thousand dollar range. have you tried a magnet test?

I have not tried a magnet test. If the real they will not be magnetic?

yes, sometimes good fakes don't stick, but these don't look like good fakes, honestly. I would be surprised if they didn't stick to a magnet like glue.

Oh good, so not much of a loss then. Just a cheap collecting lesson! For future reference, all silver dollars with an Indian head design are counterfeit. And never buy Bust Dollars that haven't been certified by the top 4 TPGs, which are PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and ICG.

Good luck on all future collecting endeavors!

Invest in a copy of "guide book of United States coins", Merlin. It is nicknamed the " Red Book" by collectors. It will acquaint you with the designs, mintages, years of mintage and mint marks of United States coinage.

Be careful around any rare dates or rare mint marks, they are highly counterfeited by the Chinese.
