Lots of stuff on "Black Diamond," not much on "Red." Company founded in Ala. in 1932, headquartered in Birmingham, mine apparently in Leeds. No idea on its rarity, possible value. Have posted on e-bay to see what kind of response, if any, it gets. Thanks for any insights.

Total novice on this end. What do the "B R 19" codes mean?

Thanks for the reference.

Thanks. I was hoping that "R" meant "rare."

E-bay started at $9.99 and is now up to $11.61, so there is some interest.

There's another Red Diamond Mines token being offered on ebay with a buy it now of $25...I think you're getting more interest starting it at a lower price and letting the market decide.

Best of luck with your auction Bill.

The auction closed at $16.05. That's more than most tokens have been selling for, and at least 2 people showed interest.

Two new questions for the forum:

1. We have a token that is scolloped that has a "1" on it. There is another "1" that is round and on ebay. I would expect that they are both cents. Anyone know about the two of them?

2. I keep imagining that "Red Diamond" was organized and named that in some sort of response to the larger and older "Black Diamond." This makes for a nice story, but a few facts wouldn't hurt. Anyone?

Thanks to MV and John1.

Mine is scolloped. The round is from the $25 Buy It Now ebay auction.

The cent token sold for $27.90. My sister has a 50 and I will be seeing her before the end of the month. I'll post a picture and offer it on ebay. I'll also offer the pictures to the token catalog when I have all three.

Any additional information is greatly appreciated.
