I would like to know for sure if this is the correct coin for the port on the right? Thanks very much. The port on the left would just be the "regular" issue?

Just that the legends are different....if that is the correct term. I have no idea what it means but I do like the half pennys.

After India became independent, the British monarch lost the title "Emperor of India". This was "Indiae Imperator" in Latin, usually abbreviated on coins as IND IMP. George VI bronze coins issued from 1937-1948 have the obverse legend ending "FID DEF IND IMP" while those from 1949-1952 have "FIDEI DEF".

I am impressed Nickels. So many times people wait for the answer to be given to them. Lets see if I remember my latin your coin reads George VI By the Grace of God King of All Britain Defender of the Faith

Well Thank You Tryna, I usually only ask for help if it's necessary as I would much rather figure things out for myself. (Also, that way people don't know I'm just an old dumb guy) Right now I am working on the QEll years and am learning a lot. I have the two I needed of the King George HP's on the way from ebay because of the quick response of people here.

http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/Nickels, check this website out. Lots of good info and pictures. QEII is tougher than one would think. There are alot of design types, even if you don't collect the purley commemerative and bullion trying to find decent examples of all the 50p coins will drive you nuts on this side of the pond. I am working on putting together a type set of major, and some of the more important minor design types from William III to QEII. I doubt if I will ever finish it. To protect my sanity I stopped at the 50p so no pound or two pound, and am just looking for representative crowns prior to Victoria.

Oh wow, sorry if I misled you you with my post...I meant I am working on the QEll half penny 1953 -1967 It's the same little Whitman album. I'm not going to try to get all the variations though. But I will say they are interesting. I am on the look out for a "calm sea" though.
Thanks for the website, I will make good use of it.
