I really wanted to get this coin, it was being advertised on The Royal Mint website for £700 last year:

http://www.royalmint.com/shop/The_1...d_Proof_Coin

I baulked at it because of the price, but after a few days I phoned up asking about the other coins in that Britten theme (specifically concerning serial numbers) but by then when I was good to go, they were all gone.
Not too surprising since the presentation mint number was only 150.

So, does anyone have one of these?
I am assuming these will increase in value, especially if sold in a set with the other coins and stamp that were being offered at the time.

I want to know if my assumption is correct and if I should really kick myself for not getting that coin when it first was released...

Hi os

I hate to be the one to say this but .......you really should be kicking yourself hard for not getting it !

I came across one on ebay and its being listed at over twice the amount you would have paid The Royal Mint for it

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/1815...=80&ff14=108

Given the very low mintage that is the sort of coin investors should be looking to acquire Its splendid ....

One of the few cases where buying new NCLT can be quite profitable.
Only problem is that when you are lucky enpugh to get an NCLT item such as this, you want to keep it, rather than selling it for a profit.
