Hi everyone,

I am new here so I apologise if this is the wrong thread but I am looking for some help identifying a coin/medallion that I have inherited.

I believe it to be gold and it is about 4.5 centimeters in diameter. On one side is a picture of Winston Churchill in formal attire, on the other side are the words... 14th June 1953 Winston Churchill Knight of the Order of the Garter at St. Georges Chapel Windsor Castle. It is also sealed within plastic casing.

I have done some searching and emailing and have been unable to find any information on it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

I believe it's part of a series which is called some thing like "Life & Times of Sir Winston Churchill". Gold plated on sterling silver, it should be marked on the edge of the medal if I'm right.
There were literally dozens of different sets issued upon his death, some by reputable companies and others by rip off merchants. As I've said, I believe yours to be silver but can't for the life of me remember the manufacturer.
