Hello,
Question: Which label is more valuable or better to have on these graded coins...American flag or buffalo?

to the CCF

In my opinion, neither label adds value to a coin like this. The primary value is the coin.

I know others will have a different opinion on slabs and labels.

I agree with MV. I think the primary value is in the coin itself, seeing as the label isn't made of gold! Haha

Although I don't do graded coins, my first inclination would be on the assigned grade rather than on the label. A coin graded as XX 70 is usually worth more than one graded XX 69. However if the XX69 is the highest graded coin for the year then I would imagine that the XX 69 would be worth more than the 70.

Likewise I feel that a first strike or other special category of label is wholly a marketing tool for the benefit of the TPG. Others may disagree with me on this but all they mean is early grading and nothing more. The value is not in the label but in the coin.

labels on modern coins are useless and worthless.

The American Flag is a PCGS first strike label. Their are two or three Buffalo PCGS labels, they are specially made for large dealers that submit hundreds of coins for grading. As echoed above, buy the coin, not the label. If you have questions about "First Strike" read some of the threads on this forum about it.
