Was going through some large cents and came across this one. I have never seen a large cent struck with the obverse on both sides of the coin. You can see a rotation when you flip the coin (about 30 + degrees). Will probably submit it to PCGS as a mint error. This one is dated 1835 (legible on one side). Was very curious if anyone else has come across one?

Thank you.

Sorry, I see I posted this in the wrong forum. Is there a way to delete this post so I can repost it in the correct spot?

Need high resoultion pictures of the edge in at least three places, to prove or not that it may be a Magician's coin.
I am a little suspicious of the barely seen circumferential line behind Liberty's head on the edge of the coin, in the second picture.
Does it ring true, when tapped on the edge with another coin?

Good catch...
I didn't try the ring test... and sure enough it clanks (doesn't ring). I think you are right about it being a Magician's coin. Haven't seen one in a large cent before.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Magician coin large cents do exist, I have a double headed 1806. Edge is poorly done though.

Surely, it's a Magician's coin, a novelty item. I believe that I have one with two tails or reverses. It's amazing what's been done to the old coppers and other coins by skilled machinists.

While I don't have pics of my two-tail cent on file, here are pics of an early pie-wheel to illustrate the complexity of machinist work that was done back in the 1800's:

The circular, central marks on the obverse indicate that this pie-wheel once saw use. The edges remain sharp, and it once had a handle attached to cut pastry.
