I was looking over this coin today and noticed on the C&C site that it matched the botched I variety. I did a Google search and didn't find much more for information. Do any of the coin catalogs have a listing for this coin? How rare would this be?

artdio, had no idea you were a politician.
coin is relatively rare and does command a premium.
I sold one about 1 1/2 years ago in F15 for regular trends + 125%.

Charlton 2014--Page 43---f12 $135
Au50 $600
Charlton says it is a position marker usually called a "Blundered I "
Only Canada has them--only on 1858 10cents and 20 cents.
Charlton only listed these varieties with high prices in the last 2 years.

The neat thing about this marker is nobody knows why they are there for any reason at all.
I think it has something to do about Leonard c. Wyon the engraver and 1858 being the first coins of Canada. Maybe the first experimental strikes---we shall only know when studies are done on all 60 dies--obverse and reverse.(2,000,000coins at 30,000 per die)

Nice find coin scavenger, difficult coin to find. How did you come by yours? I have one EF45 and VG. Also just picked up a holed example for $9 on ebay BIN. There where 2 examples that did well selling on ebay this spring and summer a VF-EF sold $800US and a VF $549 CA. So they are attracting good bids. They are starting to make it into the market.
Noticed we are in the same neighborhood.(Duncan)
Enter 1858 marker in the search on this site you'll find a few topics on the coin, that's how I found this site searching for this coin.
