So I made the mistake of ordering a coin from ebay again; the seller sends me this coin instead of the Gordian I ordered. Can anyone close in on whether it is authenticate and the RIC number?

It looks ok but IMO I'd rather have the Gordian I.

It looks OK to me too. The Sear Catalogue value for the Philip I ant is slightly higher. Btw. yes it is RIC 34b.

Unless you have a Philip 1 already, I for one would be pretty happy with it.
It is a genuine coin with full legends, and in very nice condition to boot!

I GUESS that he may have supplied the Gordian 1 to another buyer, and so sent this on approval, but it should have had an explanation with it, in that sort of case.

He might just have mixed them up. Somebody else might be missing their Philip.
