Oh, it's about 22mm and appears to be brass.

Just for the fun of it, I googled the name. Came back with a bunch of people living in Canada. Don't know where it was found, but looking up the old city directories for the towns or cities listed. An in trade indicates a general merchandise grocery type store. http://www.locatefamily.com/J/JAN/JANKURA-1.html
