My son just came home from work, he works at a drive-thru....he handed me a 1964 silver and two 1965 clad quarters he got from a customer!  |

you ever get that coin that makes your heart pound only to find out later it is absolutly worthless, and you feel like a idiot. I go through tim hortons and get a toonie for change When I looked at the coin there is this wierd head on it and strange writing, I think wow a error toonie stuck with the wrong country president. later I found out it was a mexican peso that looks like a toonie, only worth a few cents. I feel like going back and getting the rest of my $1.98 change. boo-hiss

Today's 'find': 1987 Canada $1 coin, given to me by a CoinStar repairman. I see him working on the machine, and I say "Will this take long? I got some old silver dollars I gotta dump in there!"  He said, and I quote: "If you dump old silver dollars in there, then the machine's smarter than you, because it will take them!" (Best comeback ever!)  I was kidding, of course, and he knew it... A 1987 Loonie got jammed in the works, and he gave it to me. The poor thing's down to VG or so, but hey it was free! I was still laughing about that comeback.... |

If you want a coin for a logo, a colorized Arkansas quarter* popped up in the till at work...should post a picture of it. I'm hoping the other 55 pop up in the next year. Beats paying 100x face for that crap. *could also be swapped out for the 01-S Sac dollar, or the wannabe proof Ohio-P quarter. |

The mechanic who fixed my car collects coins and was a bit, uh, 'surprised' about my getting the '38-S right there at the shop! Not to worry, he wanted a 1935 Cent to give to his grandfather and I have a nice BU Red '35 for him! |
