Hi Folks,

I came across this coin from my dad's collection. Any assistance in identifying this coin greatly appreciated. This coin should mostly be from the Indian Sub-continent.

Best Regards,
Neil.

A better picture would be nice and helpful to fully identify it.
At first glance it looks like being from the British East India company.

Without a weight or diameter, I would think the best match would be the Bombay Presidency 1/2 pice, minted from 1802-1829. East India Company bale mark logo on obverse, scales with the word "justice" in Persian on the reverse:

Thanks Philadelphian. It does resemble the Bombay Presidency 1/2 pice. Here's another set of images.

While a little blurry, the design of the reverse can now be clearly recognised, so yes it matches what 'philadelphian' said.
The only thing you need now to ensure the attribution is right is to weigh it.
The 1802-1829 1/2 Pice copper dump is stated with a weight of 5.31g, so if yours is roughly that weight then all is clear.
