I saw this listing in ebay. what is the 78 type II Ike?

Has mostly to do with the shape of the "T" in STATES. To my knowledge, all '77s and '78s are T2.

Type I Ikes were only in 1976, the Bicentennial Ikes. The letters on the reverse were wider than the Type II.

1972 has three varieties.

1976 has two varieties.

As far as I know, 1978 only has one variety. I think the seller is mistaken.

Thanks for the clarification. I saw this listing going for much more than what I thought it was worth. Very familiar with Type I and II on the '76's, thank you Collectorofcoins, and excellent pictures by the way. Scropper, thanks for the input - it verifies no premium or oddity. JBuck...I know your passion for Ikes and I appreciate the validation. I can't see what caused someone to spend over $10 on what looked like a mediocre 1978 proof set with the only ad spike being a "type 2" Ike.
