My grandfather has this coin in his possession, and is curious at to its origins. I have absolutely no experience with coin collecting, so any help would be greatly appreciated. It looks like one side has a bunch of grapes, and the front has some sort of palm tree. Thank you in advance.

Not sure if it is a coin or just a medallion of some sort.
But you are right with your palm tree and your grapes.
The writing is in Hebrew and it looks like the coins from the second Jewish Revolt which started in AD132. But as said, I rather suspect it is a modern copy of some sort.
But wait for the opinion of others.
Can you please also tell the (approximate) weight and diameter of your piece.
