There is a great post from 2007 that had pictures of a few different 1965 canadian silver dollar varieties.

Other than looking at the "dots" going around the coin, I had a difficult time telling the difference. Would someone please tell me where on the 65 coins to look for the differences?

Thanks in advance.

I just bought a collection of 5 (nothing special, just the spot price) of 5 65 dollars, each a different "5" and wanted to make sure it was the dots around that varied (or at least one part that varied).

All 5 varieties of the 1965 can be found on page four of this thread.

SB Small Beads
MB Medium Beads
LB Large Beads
P5 Pointed Five
B5 Blunt 5

Pointed Five is pointed at the bottom tip, or blunt at the same spot at the end of the curve of the five for the Blunt 5. Also see explanation on Coins and Canada site

Thanks, that second link was perfect and the arrows finally made it even clear to a chowderhead like me.

I am glad I bought that lil set.

Glad I could help.
I thought all the Chowderheads were in the Boston area,
I'm in Nova Scotia so know a bit about Chowder.

That Coins and Canada site is great for prices and varieties
as well as current ebay sales.
