I'm having a hard time finding any $100 invert watermark. I work for a bank so handling a ton load of bills. just today I handle well over of $20k in hundreds and I check for the watermarks to make sure it's a really bill among them I searched all the AB bills & all were from '96 not a single invert. So during my lunch I do a little research & I learned that when this error was discovered 40k notes were return by the banks to the fed. Reserve. I was lead to believe this was a common error & that I shld have no promble finding one.

I can't comment on the 40K notes, but if this was a widespread and common error, 40,000 notes wouldn't be a huge dent. Also, be sure to check out the counterfeit "super dollar". It's possible you may have handled one or more of those.

Fortunately for us (as a consumer, not so much a collector) the 1996 style notes will be destroyed if they get processed through the Federal Reserve Bank. That said your stacks of 100's at your bank will contain fewer and fewer 1996-2006 and 2006A notes each year.
