Hi. I'm completely new to coins and this board and have joined for a specific purpose. To give as Christmas presents I'm looking to source decent coins made between 0 and 33 AD. Hopefully in the price range of around 30-40 bucks but that's somewhat flexible.
Would anyone have a suggestion as to possibly a specific coin I should look for and maybe where I could source possibly around a dozen of them?
Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forums!
Finding a dozen of them for a reasonable price in time for Christmas is going to be difficult. That era is going to be later Augustus coins and Tiberius coins, which are relatively valuable compared to a lot of other Emperors. Vcoins.com is a reliable place to look if you want to get an idea of prices.
There may be some other region that was making coins during that era that are less in demand, though, so maybe someone will chime in if they know of anything.

Yes thanks for the help! Any origin is ok with me. The idea that it was struck between 0 and 33 AD is the most important aspect of what I'm looking for.
I'm all ears!

& yes, there some coins falling into that time range which you should be able to acquire at a price suitable to you. One example you can find in https://goccf.com/t/190611&whichpage=6a coin from the Roman province of Judaea minted during a year starting in AD6. Here a link to an ebay listing of another coin from Roman Judaea fitting into that time range 390972153876As you can see from those images, they are not the most beautiful coins but they are 1. probably be cheapest examples for coins from that time range 2. circulated in the Holy Land at that time

Thanks Medieval you're right on the money! It appears the second link didn't find it's way to ebay. Would you mind possibly reposing the link? Thanks.

Sorry, my mistake - should be fixed now. If you need a dozen, best ring a coin dealer in your area, otherwise there are dealers in Israel who should have a decent supply of those - don't know any reliable one though, perhaps someone else has an idea. Btw, top quality would likely go beyond your price range, but with what you want to spend you should get something decent.

You might try asking Antonio at 'Lucernae' out of Spain. He has many provincial AE's of Augustus for sale in his ebay store and is relatively reasonable for his lower grade coins. The provincial issues of 'Julia Traducta' might fit your needs. I have seen many of these sell for around $30 ea. They were issued under both Augustus and Tiberius. If you message him he may be able to put together a nice group for you. He is quite a 'gentleman' and will certainly respond to you one way or another !

Chinese emperor, Xin dynasty (well it was a single-guy dynasty), 9-23 AD. His coins are (mostly) really common, and ludicrously cheap (as in $5 BIN cheap for the more common types - just found this one on ebay).

Read the title of this thread and immediately muttered, "Oh, Christ..."

I can't see that working Philadelphian. Coins struck between 0 and 33AD, in the name of Christ, are pretty expensive.

Stretch it back between 7 and 2 BCE and that might open up some possibilities.

A quick search of Lucernae show that Antonio currently has six Julia Traducta AE's listed as 'buy it now' or best offer for between $35 - 60 ea. As he seems to have an almost endless supply of these coins I am almost certain he would give you a bulk discount. If you have someone named Julia on your gift list all the better If you have someone named 'Traducta' ...... My condolences ! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lucernae-Sp...em2ed8e029b0These coins are usually around 25mm which is similar in size to a quarter
