Very nice coin, however, have you taken it to a expert coin dealer? it looks to be genuine, and it is in a very nice grade. on the obverse, and on the cheek it represents that it has some flaking or lamination problems almost.

Actually they are known as "Tiffin" tokens.

Named after Joseph Tiffin who imported the copper halfpennies from England.

This is Doctor Courteau variety 24, having a rarity factor of 1
(on a scale of 1-10). Common.
