Based on my and my son's experience with coin roll searching, we would rate our productivity of roll searching as follows:

nickels
pennies
dimes
quarters

Since I'm thinking about expanding beyond nickels, I would like feedback from other roll searchers on how they rate their productivity by denomination.

Pennies work quite well for me, dime and quarters, not so much. Nickels are still fun though!

pennies - nickels - halves - dimes - quarters for me.

I got lucky and got a decent 1858 VF-ish Flying eagle with some corrosion

Cents tend to annoy me in this area though I have found a IDQ. Never found anything but common dates in dimes. I have the most fun in nickels never sold one however. I like quarters but I have state and park albums that I'm always upgrading form circulation. I also found a silver quarter this month so it's fun.

Most luck I have is just asking my teller if she had any halves or have anything unusual. I sold $70 worth since this summer that way.

I have to say that I find a lot of coins in rolls in each denomination, but every now and then I get shorted a coin or two!

My experience with quarters has been poor, not finding any silver or varieties in bank rolls. Success with dimes is getting increasing difficult. I think nickels and pennies give the most opportunities for finding coins that would bring some kind of premium in value and the most fun to spend time with.
