I am new to looking into die errors, Cuds, things of this nature and would appreciate some feedback!
I found this coin while searching and while the reverse shows what I believe to be a Cud, there are also some questions I had as to what is going on with the outer rim, it seems to be bleeding down into the coin. I know the coin isn't the best of shape but just trying to learn what I can as I go.
Hi sweep - looks like a damaged coin. If you look at the area where you suspect you have a Cud you'll see a dent. That damaged material was rolled over into the coin face and flattened. Burnished material can be seen in that area. I suspect the other rim damage occurred about the time the material was flattened or l damage could have occurred over the same period of time.
