Anyone have any news about the dansco page that goes up to today's date? The closest I find goes to 2005. Anyone know anything about it?

Dansco split the Jefferson albums in two.

The original albums (7113 and 8113) now run from 1938 to 2005.
The second albums (7114 and 8114) start at 2006.

My 7113 goes up to 2016P. I suppose it's contingent on when you bought your Dansco, what inventory might still exist at your LCS, and how Dansco is now splitting the series. I wondered if they produced odd pages to expand existing albums (perhaps with new hardware). I suppose I'll have to invest in new albums in a year or so.

my 7113 also goes up to 2016, and there is room in it for one more page. I just ordered a blank one today to add to mine

Correct. They recently changed it to stop at 2005.

For what it is worth, my original 7113 (bought in 1986) was only dated to 1985.

Same here, it goes up to 2016. I'm wondering do any of you know if there is anyplace I can get the first page of the new album to add to my current? It's like the Lincoln pennies to me, yea slight update but still the same coin for the most part so I want it all in one album.

Stories like this post make me wonder why Album manufacturers don't simply make Albums for such expansions. By that I mean the cover would be made large enough to hold many, many pages. Or one that is just for now. I'm sure they are making enough money to make such a variety, so why not. I guess it is all sort of like why they put the 1922 plain Cent in Albums.

So after working on my eleven Dansco albums all morning what do I find after putting them away but a plastic sleeve on the floor. Grrr! As to the Jeffersons, mine are

Album 8113 incl. proofs: from 1938 to 2005-S with 19 blank holes on page 6

Album 8114 incl. proofs: from 2006-P to 2017-D on page 1 and a page 2 of nothing but blank holes. Wish I had not bought this album and slipcase.

I went to place a 1969-S Proof and 1970-S Proof in the 8113 only to find there is no place for them. The -S holes already have business strike coins in them. That doesn't seem right. I'm confused.

Buffalow:
The idea is that the "proof only" starts when the S mint circulation strikes run out.
I agree with you though. The albums should be "all proofs", instead of "proof only".
The JFK album is 'all proof' for example, and it's a much more comprehensive set.
The JFK could use a few more issues too, but that is a recent thing.
Dansco has been slacking the past few years.

I don't get why Dansco only goes up to 7/8" spine on the Nickels, then introduces a
a whole new album, where in the past, they went all the way up to their widest spines
with other series, like Lincoln cents and JFK halves. I think they have found they make
more money selling more binders as opposed to selling more single update pages, so they
are making the binders smaller.

I have ordered a Jefferson album in their widest spine, so I can keep mine going all the
way up to 9 pages.

I did not know that. Thanks. It bugs me that Dansco did not carry over 2017 to the second page, but left it blank.

I basically bought a binder, slipcase and blank page I would not have needed if the 8113 album had been one size larger.
And those 19 blank holes on the last page, well, that just wrong of them to do that.

The issue isn't that they need to have bigger albums to add pages into. Though that WOULD be ideal. The change in design is what threw it all off. People like me dont care. Just keep right on going. They are all Jeffs regardless. But plenty of others want a separate album because of this.

Given that they could also make a lot more money creating new albums...

Yeah, Dansco used the Mint's tinkering with the design as an excuse to classify the coins as
a whole new series, therefore warranting a whole new album. However, there is a precedent for
this situation, of a series "tinker" vs a total coin redesign, and that is the Lincoln Cent.
Dansco should have done for the Jeffs what Dansco did for the Abes. Keep the album going right
through Wheats and Memorials. Albums 7100 and 8100. Then, offering sub-albums that the collector
can buy as an option, if they CHOOSE to break the series down into a Wheat specific or Memorial
specific album (which you can).

Dansco should have kept the Jeff album cruising right on with a larger spine and more pages, but
offered an optional 2006-up Jeff album for those wanting to collect only the "new design", or
for those determined to break their coins down into uber-specific subsets.

IMO, Dansco used to be far more sensitive to the collector, but now doesn't much care. Complacency.
