This one is on ebay for $199 or best offer. What do you all think of the grade and price?

VF25 or VF30.

What is the seller's return policy?

Trade dollars are highly counterfeited, so buying from a reputable seller/dealer is recommended especially if not certified.

Surfaces are a bit rough (cleaned?) and there is considerably more wear on the reverse (VF) than the obverse (XF+).

If fake it is a better quality fake although I'd be hesitant to purchase a coin in such a heavily counterfeited series from a seller I didn't know well and trust.

A few things give me pause including the graininess of the surfaces and the lack of detail on the reverse.
Rest in Peace

Caution is the big advice on Trade dollars. There are a number of CCF members that are in the know on Trade dollars. Hope they chime in.
Spud, I also have been looking.
The face of Liberty looks funky to me.
I'm not a fan of Chop-Marks 11: o'clock.

EF-Details, harshly cleaned. You will be disappointed in this coin at that price.

Stay away from it. It's at the very least harshly cleaned. Not worth the price.

The roughness on the obverse from nine o'clock to above the leaves is very suspect and the leaves are not as well defined as the ones on my graded 1877 Trade dollar. The lettering of E PLURIBUS UNUM should be uniform and is not especially the E and the you and M of UNUM comma after AMERICA on the reverse should look like a period. The two L's in DOLLAR are not the same size, in fact the style of LAR of DOLLAR do not match the same letters in the other words on the reverse. I would say this is a fake.

I agree, too rough for that price. And definitely looks cleaned, and has some unsightly dings....
