Graded by ANACS MS 63. What do you think ? The serial number r seems to be covered ,so can't really get a second view from the ANACS web site.

Yikes, that obverse is nasty, worn die, maybe a lot of strike weakness? Although, I wouldn't put it past ANACS to overgrade world coins by a mile. Stacks and Bowers is trustworthy though.

It bothers me that the Cert # is covered. Not sure if that is S O P with them or not. I just don't like stuff hid.

by European grading standards, I don't think that would make UNC--there are flattened high-points on each side!
Maybe some of that is just a poor strike.

I am not very familiar with the coin but it does look like it could have a little bit of wear but I would like to see the coin in person before saying it is overgraded. There have been many threads in the past where someone points out a certified coin they saw online that they think is overgraded. From my recollection, they typically involved coins that darkly toned and graded MS of which some probably are overgraded and some aren't.

so I got this over the weekend. The certification number is covered for no reason as the other coin I brought from them had the NGC serial number shown in the picture. I called ANACS and verified the serial number is good as their website is still down. However it is not part of their photo database. I found this other coin for comparison. Could this be an issue with die or actually wear ?
