Hello, my name is Chris and I am very excited to be a part of this forum. I am involved in a new project that I think many of you may find interesting. It's called "The Silver ExperiMint," and it will be a web series following the day to day operations of the Suns of Liberty Mint. It will document the entire process of minting fractional silver, the challenges of starting a new mint in todays society, and also a lot of informative segments about silver, melting it and making your own products at home, testing purity and a lot more.

We just posted a short ( 1:30 ) intro to the series, letting people know the history of Suns of Liberty Mint and introducing "Silver Dave" - the man behind the mint, and who the series will largely follow.

If you have any questions about the series or the mint, or you have suggestions for things you'd like to see, we'd love to hear from you!

Without further ado, here is the intro, I hope you like it!

Good idea to film it. I sure would like to see how all that minting is done. Where you got your dies and equipment. Where you get your silver for melting. If you use 90% silver coins, how you separate the metals. Description of equipment and tools used and how they are used. It is a good project and the cost to actually film and narrate it should be very low. This film seems more promotional of a soldier's fine work than a minter's hard work.

Thanks for the feedback. All of the things you mentioned are in the plans. The idea with the trailer, was to really show people the guy behind the mint - as that's who you'd be watching the majority of the time. The series will be all about the silver.
