I'd offer about $250-$300 providing it's not been cleaned

The coin is genuine.
Based on the image my guess is its worth roughly $250.
If its not UNC then there is not that much interest these days.

This coin is an eight pearler.
When I first saw the pictures I said to myself:
"good Fine".
With eight pearls in the King's crown, it has to be better than gF.
Therefore pricing equivalent to a Florin in VF grade should be a reasonable guide, if you are considering to buy.

It has a nice even patination and has no problems. It has some wear on the King's moustache and beard, and on the details of his uniform. Feather detail on the emu almost gone but all of the body shape of the emu remains. The star over the shield has lost it's ridges.

I would have thought AU55 which I think that's around EF in Australian terms.

The photo is not good enough.
There could be hairlines.
Or it could be a beautiful coin.
A potential buyer should factor in the risk in such cases.
My value is $350 minus the risk factor = $250.

^^ Indeed.

I will agree with 'tella' for the most part, AU55, which is EF in Australian terms, maybe a touch lower or a touch higher. You would need to see the coin in person to get a precise grade, photos can be deceiving!

Over all I would say EF, strong rims, eight pearls (the fourth set a bit weak, but seperated), full diamond, full 'Advance Australia' and quite nice feather detail, weak star howver.

No rim nicks, but a couple of small marks on the reverse, and looks to have a heavier contact mark on the obverse left field.

Having said all that, one would need to see the coin in person and see if the surfaces are original. If so, it would grade higher.

Reasonable 'retail' value online:

aUnc: $1000 ono.
gEF: $750 ono.
EF: $550 ono.
aEF: $495 ono.

Overall, looks to be a very nice coin, although a common coin :)

Thank you to all. I missed it anyways. It sold for $160 just didn't get to auction on time. That's life. Was going to go to about $200-250 so I was on the money.
