Correction: the 1973-S WAS the key coin. Now it's not.

The look more gold toned than gold plated.

I am sure that is just the photos. Or maybe my laptop screen.

But still...

Alas, it is our task to inform the 'non-collectors' that gilding the lily (plating coins) does NOTHING
to increasing the desirability (not to mention value) of coins.

Probably like the replica 24 carat gold plated American Buffalo gold coins. Each one in real 24 carat gold. If you do the math, each coin is plated in about $.65 worth of real gold.

What makes those ads worse is that they say "clad in gold" instead of plated.

Misleading even to those who are just learning the difference.

Wait, which ones are gold plated? I agree with jbuck- they look more like golden toned coins. Those are some terrible pictures. Actually, if they were all gold plated I wouldn't mind having the set (just for novelty), but I wouldn't pay anywhere near $300.

If they ARE gold plated, they are now worthless.
Correction!

Look, an Enhanced Uncirculated 2014 JFK Ike!

In all seriousness, the hazed fields on this example would suggest these coins are toned, not plated...

Why,-Why,-Why!
