Add your thoughts on the top ten numismatic events of 2014. Here are a few of the events I feel shaped numismatics in 2014.

1. Saddle Ridge Hoard Announcement & Sale - Made the national news for months and captured the imagination of coin collectors and the general public alike. One of the largest finds of its kind valued at in excess of $10 million.

2. Pogue family decides to consign their collection to Stacks - One of the largest known private collections, includes many early American rarities and believed to be valued in excess of $250 million. Announcement was a surprise to the numismatic community. Expected to yield many record setting prices and is likely the most significant collection sold since the Louis Eliasberg's sale.

3. through 10. [ADD YOURS!]

I'd loop all of the 2014 Kennedy special issues together.

1776 Continental Dollar discovered in a previously unknown metal.

Would you consider the coin hoard announced by Stacks earlier in the year to be a top numismatic event?
