The new colorized $5 bill will be unveiled on the 20th. Does anyone have any ideas of what it should look like or what they would like it to look like?

After reading that, it seems to be pretty interesting. I'll have to save one for my collection.

I didn't know that you can get an UNC brick of $5s. The only ones that I saw on ebay were $1 and $2. How do you get a brick of $5? and by the way, that's $5,000

You ask for it at your bank. Like with all currency orders

yep I have gotten bricks of $2,$5,10's before from my local bank, all you have to do is ask them (the $2's may be an exception at certain banks)

Obviously the BEP doesn't care to do a watermark of Abe, instead they use a numeral 5, unlike the rest of the notes. I am not too impressed with the design, the USA stopped making attractive notes after the small notes came out in 1928.

all the bricks I have gotten from my bank were all UNC and all sequential numbers. These weren't for my collection or anything, I used to get these bills for my uncles store and I would buy a few sequential numbers off the top before I would take them to him (he didn't care anyway because they were to go into the safe for change at a later date)

what bank do you have? I'm with Dime Savings Bank. Did you have to go to a Federal Reserve Bank to get those? I tried asking at mine before but they said that they usually get circulated ones and not directly from the Buraeu of engraving and printing. How do you ask for them?

My bank is First National Bank and it is in a very small town where I live, but I guess they always get their bills directly from Bureau of engraving because I have never gotten any bills that had a seal around them that were circulated

What exactly is a "brick"?

Are they going to change the $1 note too?

A brick is 10 straps of a certain denomination. in each strap, are 100 notes or pieces of paper money. Therefore, one brick is 1,000 notes. These are shrink wrapped by the BEP and all of the notes are in GEM condition. Even all of the serial numbers run in sequential order.

The BEP doesn't plan to change the $1 note, but there are plans for the $100.
