Hello... Today while sifting through change I found some gold plated halfs that looked off... Can you guys explain? Also, they sometimes ooze blackish stuff.. Heres a picture:

maybe au to xf-40 the finger prints on obverse and the rims are showing signs of wear

the planchet should be a dark brown and not a oozing black did you weight it to see if its a off planchet..

oh yeah the obverse is struck through finger grease making the G in god removed and the liberty is faint

Ah, ok thanks! I sent it to the Profesinal Chocolate Coin Eating Service (PCCES) And they said it was struck on a melted planchet!

Looks like PCCES might get the grade wrong on this one. What they see as wear I see as a weak mold pour.
