I roll searched some dimes last night for the first time. (only 4 rolls) The only thing interesting I found was this:

Is-This-Off-Center-Struck-Dime-Rare?

Sorry for the bad pic. But I thought it was good enough to show that is off center. BTW, the reverse is perfectly centered

Is this a desirable coin? I don't collect errors so I don't know how common this is.

Thanks!

It's a slight MAD (misaligned die). It's common and this is within mint tolerances. Once the design gets cut off then it becomes collectible.

I agree. Once the design is cut, its collectible. But they still look kinda cool lol.

Not rare, I'd spend it.

Cannot say for certain with just the obverse. If the reverse doesn't show the off-center, then it's a MAD, if it is off-center on both sides, then it is an off-center strike, and could get a slight premium (not too much since the design isn't cut off). MAD's on dimes are really common for some reason...found about a dozen this year alone...no MAD's from any other denomination.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone!

Well, at 10¢ it's a cheap "educational" keeper. I'll add a note to the flip saying "don't bother saving anymore of these".

Thanks for the extra info, Groszy. Yes, the reverse is definitely dead-center. Slight MAD it is.

I wonder if the Dime's small size magnifes minor MADs which wouldn't appear so large on a Quarter, for instance?

That's a very good point. It could just be a matter of perspective
