I roll searched some dimes last night for the first time. (only 4 rolls) The only thing interesting I found was this: Sorry for the bad pic. But I thought it was good enough to show that is off center. BTW, the reverse is perfectly centered Is this a desirable coin? I don't collect errors so I don't know how common this is. Thanks!

It's a slight MAD (misaligned die). It's common and this is within mint tolerances. Once the design gets cut off then it becomes collectible.

I agree. Once the design is cut, its collectible. But they still look kinda cool lol.

Quote: It's a slight MAD (misaligned die). Cannot say for certain with just the obverse. If the reverse doesn't show the off-center, then it's a MAD, if it is off-center on both sides, then it is an off-center strike, and could get a slight premium (not too much since the design isn't cut off). MAD's on dimes are really common for some reason...found about a dozen this year alone...no MAD's from any other denomination.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone! Well, at 10¢ it's a cheap "educational" keeper. I'll add a note to the flip saying "don't bother saving anymore of these".

Yes, the reverse is definitely dead-center. Slight MAD it is.

I wonder if the Dime's small size magnifes minor MADs which wouldn't appear so large on a Quarter, for instance?
