This was harder that I thought it would be. the Indian and the Eagle are in holders, the sovereigns are free, and they seem more reflective. this was the best of about 20 pictures.

I seem to have a Canon 30D and all the pieces in house like tripod and autorelease etc
I just ordered the best full spectrum lights at 6000 Kelvin money can buy and then I may find the courage to take some RAW pictures and process them
In the meantime I seem to have the nearly impossible task to do better then my 5 minutes scan and crop pics

The Indian is no problem for my scanner either but the new Eagle is undoable because my scanner finds no contrast in the coin

Very nice, but the color looks off on the 1908 $2.5 indian.

the photo is very close to the coin. closer then the other three.
I think I need to work on White balance.
