New pick up. What do you think it makes for grade?

Thanks for looking and any input

Not my area; however the motto "In God We Trust" looks strong and I remember this area being weak
on the first year(s).
The minor discoloration along the rims looks normal to me.
Gee, 84 years old? I should look as good ...
Nothing says 'off' to me.

I think it's a solid MS-66. Beautiful lustre!

32 Philly is a TOUGH date/mm in the Washington series. Superb coin.

Hit on the cheek will probably limit to 65. LOVE the luster and the hint of champagne colored toning.

Thanks for sharing!

I would go MS-64. I think the marks on the face and in the fields will hold it back. The one I have looks like it might be just a tad nicer than this one and it was graded 64.

thanks all for your thoughts. I guess I did not do so bad at $39 for this coin. This might have to go to PCGS in hopes of a 65 if not the pipe dream of a 66 and I'll have something to sell to buy, you guessed it, more coins!

I think it is a nicely struck MS65. It might downgrade for the marks. Very nice in my book

That should go MS65 no brainer with a shot at 66. But I have no grading skills whatsoever as was pointed out to me today by PCGS. Indeed I just opened a thread on a 1946 Washington that looks like ol' George was in the "Chainsaw Massacre" movie.
It is in this forum. Check it out and compare it to dsfreeworld's piece that we are speaking of.
Where is that "Scream Until Your Lungs Burst" icon when you need it?

Jon K beautiful coins. I noticed your 1954 S appears to be a D. Just thought I would let you know.
